Overview: Evaluating Lesson Plan Implementation/Reflection on Dispositions

In Module 1 of this course, you expanded your vision for science education in the modern era. In Module 2, you looked at ways, such as the 5E Instructional Model, to use inquiry-based learning to enliven physical science learning. In Module 3, you considered Earth and space science and how Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Response to Instruction (RtI) open up the exploration of these areas while ensuring that every student has the opportunity and support to succeed in science. In Module 4, you looked at using an inquiry-based approach to unlock the life sciences as well as important ethical considerations accompanying the use of living organisms in the classroom.

In this Module 5 assignment, you will report on the lesson plan you designed and implemented as a field experience and reflect on what you have learned throughout this course about the connections among science, technology, engineering, and society.  Evaluate how science and society can benefit from elementary teachers designing and delivering science instruction with an integrated scientific inquiry-based approach that includes appropriate literacy, technology, and engineering principles.
