  Critically assess the ways in which organisations are using social media and technology as recruitment tools.

CONTEXTe-recruitment has established itself as the predominant medium for attracting people to apply for employment to an organization. Regardless of the size or location of the organization the web is used to attract as wide and deep a pool of potential candidates as possible. On the downside, this has led to many employers being inundated with speculative CVs and they may have to sift through dozens, hundreds or thousands of them and determine whether any of them meet their requirements.

The growth of e-recruitment has been paralleled in recent years by the growth in digital hiring and the use of social media as a recruitment medium. There are now hundreds, thousands of recruitment apps including nexthire, Work4Labs, jobcast, jobvite, linkUp and undercover recruiter amongst others, which by-pass traditional channels and allow candidates to obtain an image of an organisations identity, mission and values and rate it as a place to work. These apps, often used in addition to Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, also target passive job-seekers, people who are not actively looking to change job but might be tempted by an interesting job prospect and they are increasingly being used as recruitment channels.

It might be said that finding a potential job has never been easier but to what extent does social media and technology enhance the recruitment process?
Your task is to carry out a critical assessment of the ways in which organisations are using social media and technology as recruitment tools and provide a REPORT that covers the following:
1.)1. A critical evaluation of e-recruitment, comparing and contrasting it with at least one other traditional recruitment channel e.g. newspapers, job centres, recruitment agencies, word-of-mouth etc.
2.)The image portrayed and the values presented by the organization. (illustrate your report with examples)
3.)Examples of what you consider good practice and an assessment of what it is that makes them stand out from the rest (use screenshots if you wish)
Any company from any country might be chosen to fulfill the contrast.
